Haven't Blogged in a While...

O.k, o.k. I haven't blogged in a bit. I haven't even been looking at everyone's blogs much either, which is something I like to do. My excuses are:

1.)Nasty ol' computer virus did a number on our computer. We've been back and forth between operating systems, and I'm confused by it all.
2.) I've been really busy with school stuff, b-days, family visiting, calling, etc, etc, etc.
3.) I've gotten way behind in the events of life on my blog. I want to post about them all, including pictures. Thinking about it I just get overwhelmed by the "catch-up," so I don't go near my blog.
4.) I've been reading the "Twilight" series in my spare time.

And the list could go on, but I'll stop there. So...I'm going to do better...though I have one more book to read.

Birthday and Spring Break Fun

I'm a bit behind in the blogging arena. Or any area of life right now. I'm riding the waves, trying to stay a-float. We celebrated X-man's b-day in March. He LOVES Star Wars, so he wanted a Star Wars cake. Luckily, I found a very easy example online and wah-lah--a Tie Fighter came zooming into our galaxy. He had a great day playing with his new toys, getting phone calls from family, not having school, and having a video party. Need you ask? We watched Star Wars, of course.

X-man chose which restaurant he could eat at for his b-day so he could sit on "the thing" (sawhorse with a saddle) and be sung to. I didn't think he'd want to get up there and be sung to as he's a quiet, shy guy. He practically hurdle everyone to get to it when the restaurant folk came to sing. He LOVED it--almost as much as Star Wars...almost.

Then Spring Break was upon us. X thought it was an extra b-day present--not having school for a whole week. My folks came to visit, and we lived it up. We tried some putt-putt. A's trying her swing.

L loved the putt-putt. He also loved riding the zebra and any other animal he could climb.

B had such a good time being loved, adored, and cheered on. She's giving Bumma a squeeze.

I have such wonderful, amazing, awesome parents. They taught the little folks how to play marbles, and then that evolved to rolling marbles to see how close we could get them to a line. We had some games of baseball in the backyard with L. gathering balls before he'd run to bases. He'd chuck them at Bumpa the Pitcher while he was waiting to run to the next base. Of course, A. had to razz Bumpa with chants of "We want a pitcher, not a belly itcher!" And Bumma cheered the hitter on with, "Bring me home! Bring me home!" and they'd hit that ball and "bring 'er home!" We putt-putted, we Wii-ed, we played at parks, we played games, we rode the train, we watched movies, and we even let Bumpa go to his favorite store, Cabelas (three times!). And of course, we smiled and laughed especially hard when Bumpa took a bite of some "chicken jerky" only to find out it was meant for canine friends. T and I even went on a date to the Symphony. The only problem was that it was over all too soon. We have decided that we are just TOO far from family...

...Because family is what it's all about!

I sure do miss my folks...sigh
