1st Date, Pioneer Woman, and Eating Worms

B had her first "official" date this past weekend.  Our requirement was her first date had to be with her dad, so he could show her just how special a truly nice guy should treat her, opening doors, meeting her parents, calling and politely asking her out, and treating her well.
They went to the Lego Movie and then for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory.

 According to all accounts:
"Everything was AWESOME!"

Meanwhile...back on the farm, A. was putting her domestic skills to use,
 sewing her pioneer bonnet!

 Cutest pioneer woman ever!
Not a ray of sun, or rain, or even a bug will get past that brim to that lovely face!

L. treated us to a Family Home Evening treat of...
(drumroll please)
Dirt and WORMS!
There he is slurping a dirt-encrusted, squiggly worm.

It's really chocolate pudding, Oreo crumbs, and gummy worms as I'm sure you knew., but in case not, didn't want to leave the impression we encourage worm eating! Only on rainy days.

Life's Too Short...

I found my new motto:

So when my piles of laundry slump with neglect, and my stacks of dishes wobble with despair, and my dust bunnies scamper and twirl for attention, I shall look at them and declare:
"Life's too Short!"

We got this in the mail the other day.
 I usually chuck junk mail,
but this made me chuckle so much that I decided to keep it.
 It's for a maid service.

I Believe in God and I'm not crazy.

It seems that a trend in media has been to view those with a belief in God as extreme, smug, hypocritical, shrewish, intolerant, judgmental, brainwashed, backward, and plain ol' waco.

I believe in God and I'm not crazy.
I believe there is a God.
I believe we are His children. I know He loves all the people of the world and has an interest in us all.
I believe He has given us laws, rules, and commandments to protect us and those around us. I believe following all those rules brings us inner-peace which we can get in no other way.
I believe He has a plan for each of us, a purpose. I believe He wants all to know of Him and His plan.
I believe Jesus Christ, His Son, is central to that purpose.
I believe He allows us our agency, or ability to choose, and find our way with Him or without Him.
I believe He is kind and wants us to be kind and giving. I believe He sends us each other since He can't be right here.
I believe helping each other is helping Him.
I believe He is real.
I believe in God and I'm not crazy.
