Wonder Woman and Underwear

Yesterday while at the store, A. asked me to look for items for her Halloween costume. I didn't find what she was wanting, but I did find something...Wonder Woman underwear!

Chuckling I quickly snapped a photo of the costume idea, captioned it with "You could be Wonder Woman. Want me to get?" and pushed send. Clever mom. Before heading home, I checked my text messages. What?? No text from A. about her clever mom's Halloween idea??!  Oh! My! Goodness!  I had accidentally sent the picture and text to my church friend and NOT to my daughter!  I quickly texted an explanation and then sent the picture and caption to A.

The whole thing could have gotten out of hand. I could have texted the Bishop or something! Yikes!

After getting a good laugh, I started thinking about all the Wonder Women I know. I have been very blessed to be surrounded my WHOLE life by Wonder Women. I have always been so supported and loved and guided and counseled and lifted by wholesome, noble, quiet, fun, righteous Wonder Women!  So even though it was an embarrassing mistake, my friend and so many other woman really ARE Wonder Woman (whether they have the underwear or not!).

I Believe in Angels

Today I was sitting in a meeting, discussing the goals set to help one of my children toward a bright future.  As this child's future has been getting closer and closer, I've been more and more nervous on how best to help her find her place in this world. Having never done this, I've felt alone in my search for answers, yet known that I've been guided down certain avenues by an all-knowing, merciful God. As we sat talking and laughing about the possibilities, one of the ladies looked at me and said, "We're here for you. We'll help your child find her way," and I knew she meant it. The other ladies echoed her sentiment; we were together in this goal.  While my search hasn't ended,  it certainly isn't lonely anymore.

And so Yes! I believe in angels.  I believe God sends us help. Sometimes as we are working our way through the struggle and holding on, we just have to step a bit further and there they are: those angels, those people who, while not heavenly beings, are kind, understanding, genuine, and--heavenly. They are God's angels here on earth.  I am so thankful for the angels God has sent to me.
