I normally enjoy staying home and getting things done, but when I HAVE to stay home because I'm without transportation?! Well, then I feel just plain STUCK! We've been having car trouble. Our car is "well-used" and "worn, " but it works (or it did).
Monday I took it in after being assured on the phone and in person that they'd look at it in the morning. I needed it in the afternoon. We had a drip of some fluid and wanted to make sure it wasn't an indication of something worse. The day rolled by. I stayed off the phone just in case they called. They didn't. I called. Twice. Finally at 3 pm they were looking at our car. Yep. It's a drip. It means eventually this and that will go out, but it's o.k. to drive in the meantime. (Just pray, count your lucky stars, and keep your fingers crossed).
Tuesday was glorious as I truttled around in my well-used, worn van.
Wednesday on the way home from dropping off kids, the power steering went out. Luckily I was on a side street. Steering that thing was like tugging on an unconscious elephant (I've never done that, but I can imagine). I made it home. I did some research and saw fellow van drivers sometimes experienced this when some belt thing got wet and slipped off.
The van's in the repair shop. Again (a different one). So we'll see. Thankfully, I have wonderful friends and neighbors who have helped picked up kiddos. And the sun in shining after much needed, yet gloomy rain. And I can get all those tasks done that I put off, because I'm busy driving around doing errands. See. Things are looking up.

Wolf + birthdays + Christmas = LIFE
So I guess my New Year's Resolution has nothing to do with blogging more regularly (it would be a sad start to a new year if it were!). Here are a few things that have happened in our life--a little at the end of last year; a little at the beginning of this year.
X-man worked hard to get his Wolf badge in Cub Scouts.
B. turned 14 (yikes!).
She has gone to a few church dances and enjoyed herself immensely!
The kids drove a fire truck.
Just kidding.
We had our annual CCA Christmas party
and got to sit in the firetruck.
We do this every year. The kiddos love it!
He did very well in giving us our Christmas wishes.
L. turned 7! He had been counting the days for quite a while--
finally the magical day arrived.
L. has wanted me to make him a blanket for a long time.
I decided to make it for some of his birthday.
That's what I've been doing instead of blogging. He likes it.
And that is our life in a nutshell.
