Pinewood Derby in a Splint

X-man had his first Pinewood Derby this year.  He came up with the design of his car and with the help of Hobby Lobby we found some cool dino-skin paper to jazz it up.  The top had scratch marks from a fierce dinosaur. It wasn't the fastest car, but it was pretty snazzy looking. He was a great sport. He and L. are planning next year's cars already.

 See the dinosaur footprints!

Oh, and you might have noticed the splint and bandage X-man is so handsomely sporting.  We found out Monday that he fractured his ulna (the outside, small bone in the forearm).  The sad story (should I share?!  I felt quite bad about it) is he fractured it TWO weeks ago on President's Day.  He started  complaining that his hand and wrist were hurting that Monday.  The whole story finally came out with questioning: X-man had hit his sister, B, on the knee.  Not thinking too much of an injury could occur from that, we thought he'd sprained his wrist and told him he'd be fine with time.  He complained from time to time, but then would be running around playing, building Legos, joking with his brother just fine, going to school, writing, playing at PE.  We noticed it was swollen on Sunday (it hadn't been prior--that we saw), so we took him in.  I'm taking his pain more seriously in the future!  AND NO more karate chopping sister!

His very cute Pack. Every boy is kind hearted and accepting.
They've been so good for X-man!
