Ninja Training began in earnest when L. had some fellow Ninja warrior friends come help him celebrate turning 8. The Ninjas-in-Training (NITs) decorated shuriken (Ninja Stars), pinned the Beard on Sen Sei Wu, had Speedy Chopsticks (moving M&Ms from one bowl to another with chopsticks), threw the shurikens, wielded Ninja swords (katanas), and of course, ran the Ninja Master training course. Upon completion, the NITs became NINJA MASTERS.
X and L donned their headbands, ready for Ninja Training!
The Lego Ninjago Ninjas oversaw the training.

The glass jars had ping pong balls the NITs have to knock off with their shurikens (It's harder than it looks!) B. helped set the ping pong balls up.
L. was armed with his Ninja sword and ready to CHOP...
some ping pong balls.
X. with the skills.

You can't see it very well (I was running a party and forgot to take pictures!), but there were strings with a ping pong ball stuck to each one. These mighty NITs had to chop the ping pong ball off the swinging strings. Ping pong balls were FLYING! This was a hit!
Then once they'd honed their Ninja skills, the NITs were ready to run the whole course which included stealthily sneaking past the swings on the swing set without touching them, knocking ping pong balls off jars with their sure-fire shuriken aim, swatting off all the swinging ping pong balls with their sword and DEFEATING the DARK NINJA. Success= Ninja Master.

He met with success and he, along with his trust-worthy warrior friends, are now NINJA MASTERS!
In fact, the DARK NINJA and Ninja course was such a hit that they continued to run through it and defeat the DARK NINJA! Then they decided to join forces and ALL attack the DARK NINJA at ONCE.
The DARK NINJA didn't stand a chance. He was soundly defeated.
The Master Ninjas then went in for some grub. Some were less than excited when I told them we were eating sushi, or raw fish. Even after explaining it was really rice crispy treats with Swedish fish and fruit leather, and Chocolate roll cakes, and Twinkies (not real ones), some chose to eat the apples and oranges instead. Their moms would have been proud of their healthy choices. We stuck with the rice crispy sushi. Yum!
A happy L!
We had such fun! One of the funnest parties we've had. And every member of the family helped. I've got such awesome kids AND a wonderful DARK NINJA!
