Trophy and Awards

L. finished his soccer season and got a sparkly trophy to go with his sparkly smile. Unfortunately he was sick for his last game and his rescheduled game was canceled due to rain, so he didn't get to officially end the season playing. To him the trophy more than made up for the missed games. In fact, it is playing a very convincing role in his desire to play again next season, though he did enjoy playing. We loved watching him and cheering him on.

With the school year ending, we've gotten to attend special award ceremonies for each of our little brainiacs.  X was one of three in his class awarded a medal for Academic Excellence. The awarded first and second graders stood on the stage once they received their awards. Afterwards, X came down and asked if that was a good thing they got to stand there. "It was a GREAT thing you were up there!"  He beamed.

A. was one of two students in her class awarded a medal for Academic Excellence. Here she is with her teacher. She has always loved learning and done outstanding work with little or no "nagging/encouragement."  She makes T. and I look like we know what we're doing in this thing called parenting.  We are so pleased with our smarties.

*Yes, I know. I bragged a little bit. Moms can do that. It comes with the job.
